Coffee, Juice and Wine Stains:
These are some of the most common types of stains. To get rid of them, use a clean terry cloth or white paper towels to blot up all of the excess liquid that you have. Do not scrub. Next, apply club soda to the area. Then, after a few seconds of sitting, you will want to again blot out the stain with clean, dry paper towels. Blot off any excess liquid there.

Sometimes it is not food that lands on our carpet but other types of stains. These can be just as menacing to the quality of the carpet though. Here are some tips to help you to get rid of them.
Candle Wax Stains:
To remove candle wax from your carpeting, take a dull knife and scrape up the excess wax that has hardened. Usually you can do this to remove most of the wax from the carpet. Gently pick up the debris, do not smash it down into the carpet more so. When this does not work, apply a clean layer of terry cloth or white paper towels to the area and then apply a warm iron over the top. This will gently melt the wax and will allow it to slowly pull the wax out of the carpet into the towel.
Pet stains are the most important of all stains to remove from your carpet because a pet that smells urine on the carpet will continue to urinate there. To remove this stain, blot up any and all excessive liquid. Then, apply one teaspoon of dishwashing liquid and one cup of water in a spray solution to the area. Blot it up again. Do not use ammonia on pet stains as this smells much like the urine and will only cause the pet to do it again. Instead, you can purchase pet stain removers.
To remove odors caused by any other type of stain, sprinkle the area with baking soda and allow it to sit over night or at least a few hours. Vacuum it up.
The key things to remember about removing stains from your carpet are to work as quickly as possible on the stain to get to it before it sets or gets deep into the pile and also to insure that you check any chemical that you will be using on your carpet on a hidden spot. If all else fails, it is important for you to call in a professional carpet cleaner to help you.
